It’s been just over two years since we released our most recent short movie.
Today, I am every bit as proud of the work everyone did as when we initially released it.
Having said this, I did run out of steam with the project. I chose not to submit the movie to several film festivals, which was our original plan. I became worried about spending too much money on the project.
Instead, I released it on Vimeo, knowing that I could have done more.
While I don’t regret this decision, I did struggle with making it for a long time. I thought I could take a break and try again a bit later.
Making art is a different process than marketing and distributing art. Karilyn and I are better at the former. I am still working to become better at the latter.
Meanwhile, I want Surprise Party to be a gift for anyone who is intrigued.
