Have compassion for yourself.
Some weeks are going to be less productive than others. And that’s okay.
We all get sick. Sometimes, we have too much on our minds. It’s not possible to be in a constant state of flow.
While I like the idea of doing things that keep me healthy and engaged, I know that life has its ups and downs. Some days are more difficult than others. We all struggle at times.
Being kind to others is a virtue. Being kind to ourselves is a blessing.
It seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve been on vacation. But it hasn’t been that long.
Less than a month ago, I had a wonderful time visiting Breckenridge with Karilyn, Kris, and Mikayla.
Still, I’m looking forward to our next vacation. I’m excited to have a full week off work. Taking breaks is important. We need to recharge our batteries. This is part of what it means to be kind to ourselves.
We all make mistakes. Recognize this, and be nice to yourself the next time you make a mistake. There’s no real benefit to beating yourself up. Instead, have compassion when you talk to yourself.
Like many things, this is easier said than done. That’s why it’s good to remind ourselves what’s good for us. That’s why it’s good to practice being kind to ourselves.
Have compassion for yourself.
