I’m Harvey Milk

Last night, Karilyn and I experienced the pleasure of watching Mike Broemmel’s wonderful play I’m Harvey Milk. Ben Beasley did an excellent job in the title role.

One of the things that impressed me about this play is that it really gave the audience an understanding of who Harvey Milk was BEFORE he became elected in San Francisco.

Greg West directed the show, which had its premiere at the Studio Loft Theater at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

I am so grateful to Mike Broemmel and to the Denver Arts & Venues ARPA Cultural Partnership Activation Program for making this possible.

Obviously, the play reminds me of the 2008 movie, Milk, which features Sean Penn in the title role, directed by Gus Van Sant, who is amazing.
