Wisdom at 55

I’m going to be 55 years old on November 5, 2024.

For my birthday, I would like to see Kamala Harris elected as the next president of the United States of America. Is that too much to ask?

I don’t feel like I’m particularly wise at this age. Still, I have learned a few things that are worth sharing.

  1. Relationships matter. Invest in people.
  2. Things change. Expect change. Welcome change into your life.
  3. Most issues we care about are complex. Embrace ambiguity.
  4. We spend much of our lives working. Do some work that matters.
  5. Humans have a great capacity for joy. Prioritize time to play.
  6. The world is fascinating. Never stop learning. Always be curious.
  7. We all experience setbacks and loss. Be empathetic.
  8. Together, we can do some extraordinary things. Care for others. Be kind.
  9. No matter what you do, the struggle is real. Celebrate your wins.
  10. Life is precious. Be grateful for each moment you’re alive.

There you have it!
