I don’t think most people want to acknowledge the importance of taste.

Most people are content to consume whatever shows up.

I’ve been guilty of watching LOTS of movies that don’t make the cut. But here’s the thing: we can learn from people who do not agree with us! We can learn from people who fail to express the significance of what’s happening within our society.

Not all movies are good. Some are bad because they lack well-composed shots (cinematography). Some are bad because the dialogue is not believable. Some are bad because the actors are not convincing.

And some are good! That doesn’t mean we’re going to enjoy watching them. I’ve watched several EXTRAORDINARY movies without ever wanting to see them again.

Here’s the thing. Creating Art is a process.

Why do we do it? We are compelled to create art.

I don’t know why. And I know that not all people feel this compulsion.

Still, I want to acknowledge the people who strive to make the world a better place by imagining what’s possible.

Note: This blog post is all about me figuring it out. I don’t have all the answers! I don’t even have enough questions to ask!

Just trust in what lights you up! Let your loves define your taste.
