There is something very peaceful in watching gently falling snow.
While I’ve never seen “chestnuts roasting on an open fire”, the image and melody from The Christmas Song evoke the same peaceful feeling.

It’s times like this when I appreciate the changing seasons. I appreciate walking outside when it’s “too hot” or “too cold”. Being physically uncomfortable reminds us that our bodies are attuned to the cyclical nature of our world.
In our lives, there is a time for lots of activity and a time for rest. There is a time for socializing with others and a time for quiet reflection alone.
It’s worth recognizing that progress is never linear for the human race. We move forward in fits and starts. Sometimes, we go backward before leaping ahead again.
