If you look at a tall sailboat on open water heading toward the horizon, you’ll notice that the bottom of the boat is no longer visible when you can still see the top of the sails.
This is great evidence indicating that the Earth is round.
Yesterday, I noticed something interesting, which may also indicate the Earth is round.
I watched a plane high above me flying toward the horizon. There were four layers of clouds above the plane.
Initially, it looked like the plane would fly through the highest layer of clouds. I waited to see it disappear behind the highest clouds. Instead, the aircraft passed underneath these high clouds.
If the plane had been flying in a straight line, I’m sure it would have gone through the clouds. Maybe it was an optical illusion…
I kept watching as the airplane approached the second-highest layer of clouds. Again, it looked like it would disappear as it went through these clouds. And again, it passed underneath this layer of clouds.
I watched the airplane fly under the third-highest and finally the lowest layer of clouds.
Here’s what I think was happening. Each layer of clouds was a fixed distance from the ground and the airplane was at a lower height. As the airplane remained at a constant altitude, it flew in a curved path that kept it under all the cloud layers.
The airplane flew part of the way around the Earth!
Had it flown in a straight line, I’m sure it would have gone through one or more of the cloud layers. Instead, its path followed the curvature of the Earth, remaining at a constant altitude.
If my analysis is correct, it indicates that the Earth is round!
