The In-Between

I’m a project person.

I like doing projects. The “In-Between” is that strange time when I’m not working on a project. One project has ended. Another is yet to begin.

This would be a good time to go on a vacation. Traveling is probably the best thing I could do in between projects! However, I don’t always know when one project is going to end, so I don’t travel between projects as often as I would like.

I could try to relax. I could watch movies, read books, play piano, and lose myself in other people’s stories. But I tend to get restless in between projects. So, trying to relax isn’t necessarily relaxing!

You might think this would be the perfect time for me to organize my office or do other chores. I could exercise more. I could meditate. But no! I don’t have a great track record with such things when I’m in between projects.

Sometimes, I get depressed. Sometimes, I just have the blahs. Between projects is actually a good time for me to go hiking in the mountains or walking on a beach. It’s a good time to do something completely different from the project work.

It’s a good time to think about what I want my next project to be.
