My First Song

This morning, for some unknown reason, I thought about a song that I had composed when I was about twenty years old.

I’ll share it in a separate post.

Then, I realized that this was not the first song that I had composed. When I was a kid in grade school, I wrote a Theme Song for a movie that I never made. I thought I was being clever by making the title an acronym: Great Exploring Noble Intelligent Undercover Spies (GENIUS).

The idea was probably similar to the Spy Kids movies that Robert Rodriguez would go on to make. Except that the main character I imagined grew up in an orphanage. And the plot maybe wasn’t quite so ridiculous.

At any rate, I’m a bit surprised that I could still remember how to play it. Memory is a weird thing. I’m pretty sure that I didn’t compose any other songs between grade school and college.

But I’m not completely sure. Who knows? Maybe I’ll post an update if I recall any other ones.
