Frank Oz is more than a great director. He’s the genius who brought Yoda to life in The Empire Strikes Back. He’s worked closely with Jim Henson on many projects. And he’s one of my heroes.
He directed one of my favorite comedies of all time, Bowfinger. Karilyn and I love this movie, partly because we’ve made independent movies, and no movie does a better job of showing what that’s like. Especially when “We are not the big guys. We are the little guys.”

While his other directing credits are impressive, these are my favorites.
I don’t think it’s possible to overstate the value of his collaboration with Jim Henson. When you work with amazing people, you become a better team player, which allows you to work with even more amazing people.
I’ll always be grateful for how his work has infused my life with joy!
