Creation is GOLD.
While I love creating stuff, I realize I’m just one person. So many people are creating stuff now that an opportunity also exists for Curators.
The more people there are who create stuff, the more mediocre stuff gets created. Not everyone wants to scroll through an endless feed of mediocre content. For this reason, Curators can offer a valuable service.
Of course, there have always been Curators. Movie critics are Curators. The people who vote for Golden Globes and Academy Awards are Curators. Kings and Queens who have sponsored various artists are Curators.
To be honest, even Euclid was a Curator.
If a Curator can be trusted, our society benefits from acts of Curation. If a Curator cannot be trusted, he or she is hopefully ignored.
What determines the trustworthiness of a Curator? I would like to see merit play a role. I believe that some content is OBJECTIVELY better than other content.
Of course, SUBJECTIVE opinions also play a role.
While curation determines what works of art survive through the ages, the act of CREATION remains the most important act for humanity.
